Falcon Retail - Budgens & Subway supporting Frome Town Youth Under 11s
Falcon Retail have recently opened a brand new Budgens service station at Commerce Park on the edge of Frome with is home to Shell Petrol aswell as a Subway restaurant, with the shop and fuel available 24 hours a day.
They have got involved with the local community by supporting our Under 11s with polo shirts which will be worn to the league presentation event on Friday 3rd May. The following day the team will visit the store to have their photo taken with an F1 Ferrari which will be on display for the day and all customers will have the opportunity to also have their photos taken with the car.
Kevin Knight store manager: "It's great to be able to be involved with the local community by supporting grassroots football in the area. We would like to congratulate Frome Town Youth on their success this season and look forward to welcoming the players and their families to our event in May."
The club are very happy to announce that we have recently linked up with 3 local businesses to bring new kit and equipment to various age groups.
Orchardleigh Estate and Golf Course have very kindly sponsored our newly formed Under 8s team who are now looking forward to their 1st games in the Midsomer Norton Youth League.
Rogers & Co of Frome have supplied our Under 9s with a large number of size 4 balls ready for next season when they will be moving up to under 10s and the new challenges that this brings.
Newbridge Auto Centre of Bath have very kindly made a donation of 12 pairs of football boots suitable for our new training facilities at Selwood Academy, this will enable the club to continue to provide affordable football for every memeber of Frome Town Youth. Newbridge Auto Centre have also become the 1st company to take the opportunity of sponsoring an age group at this seasons Frome Town Youth tournament.
Tournament support needed
We are hoping once again to bring back our very popular end of season tournament. We have the venue booked and a date in mind and clubs already getting in touch to enter teams, but we need your support in making it happen.
This one weekend involves lots of planning and hard work which we have a team in place to sort but what we have lacked in previous years is the support across the actual weekend to make the event a success which has meant we havent been able to go ahead.
We are holding a meeting at 8pm on Thursday 7th February at the Vine Tree Pub, Frome to talk about how this event will go ahead. Any parents, family members, club supporters who wish to be involved are asked to attend this meeting so we can asses if this event is viable.
This meeting will be the measure of if we can go ahead, the attendance by as many people as possible is vital. Please help spread the word about this meeting and help get this great event back into the Frome Town Youth calender.
If you have any questions please speak to your childs coach who will be happy to point you in the right direction.
The longest of waits is (almost)finally over for Frome
It's a facility that Frome as a whole has waited far to long for but thanks to the hard work of so many over countless years the town finally has a fantastic 3G football facility.
Frome Town Youth have been very fortunate to be involved with this process and we are happy to say that we have secured the training slots that we were hoping for which means all training will remain unchanged. All of our training will move to Selwood Academy as of 1st March (excluding the U9s who will continue at Writhlington), with all age groups retaining there current training days and times and we hope to remain there until the end of April.
This new facility offers us the opportunity to train our players on a much safer surface than at our current facility.
The club wishes to inform all parents and players that there is a strict code as to what footwear is allowed to be used.
As a club we know this may mean more expence for parents but we have already had some parents say they have boots that their child has grown out of which they are happy to donate. If you have boots that you wish to pass on to other parents please pass them to your childs coach and we will spread the word on what is available.
Please see the picture below as to what footwear is acceptable.
Player registration process Season 2019/20
As we approach the half way point for alot of our teams our attention has already turned to next season (it's a bit like the shops putting easter eggs out on 22nd December!).
As of next season we will be trying to move away from paper registration forms, although this will take time the first step in this process is parents confirming consent for their child to play for the club online. For this to happen we need all parents to register on the FAs Whole Game website so we can link them to their childs Football Association Number (FAN). We have around 250 players signed on and as a club this process will take about 5 minutes per player when the FA website runs well. This means atleast 21 hours are needed to get this done.
It would be great if we can start registering players now so could we ask that you use the link on the Whole Game Registration page to complete your registration asap. With a new FA match day app due for next season we are hoping to make the lives of our coaches easier and your help and support with this is very much appreciated.
Please be aware as of next season we are unable to register any player who does not have a FAN linked to a parents account, this process must be completed by all parents.
If you are having any issues registering please contact us.
Frome Town Youth Return To Wembley
Frome Town Youth are excited to announce we will be returning to Wembley this time to watch the Womens FA Cup Final on Saturday 4th May 2019 (Kick off TBC).
Last season saw Chelsea beat their London rivals Arsenal in front of a record breaking crowd and thanks to our links with Somerset FA we are able to offer a fantastic price of £7.50 per adult with under 16s watching the match for free. Coach tickets will be £11 each (regardless of age) so a family of 2 adults and 2 kids could visit Wembley and watch some of the best female players in the world for just £59.
Applications will be open exclusively to members of our girls section and Wildcats until 26th December 2018.
After this date we will open it up to all members of Frome Town Youth.
Full details can be found on our dedicated Women's FA Cup page
The future is bright for Frome Wildcats
Having delivered all 16 required sessions of our FA SSE Wildcats Centre, our club is determined to ensure the provision of girls only football continues long into the future.
Frome Town Youth FC are committed to growing the girls game and with the help of a few new volunteers, our aim is to create a pathway into our club by forming an Under 8s and Under 10s age group, to add to our already established Under 12s and Under 14s. This way every girl who has attended our Wildcats sessions will have the option to continue in an age appropriate squad.
We realise that not all of the girls are interested in competing in matches, but those that are, will be entered into girls only festivals in both Somerset and Wiltshire.
Based on school year, the age groups will be split as follows:
Under 8 - Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 (Year 1s are not able to play in organised matches until their 6th birthday)
Under 10 - Year 4 and Year 5
Under 12 - Year 6 and Year 7
Under 14 - Year 8 and Year 9
To ensure our provision is open to all, membership is an annual fee of just £35 for Under 8 and Under 10 players and £75 for the U12 and U14 girls.
Under 9s double sponsorship delight
Frome Town Youth under 9s would like to say a huge thank you to The West Country Home Company and A M Precision Engineering for sponsoring the front and back of their new kits. Both companies are locally based and have ties to the new age group. The players will no doubt look forward to their brand new kits for the coming season.
